CASE STUDY Theories in social work play an important role in solving problems among families from different background. Problems can be evolving from an individual ,or families or may constitute their concerned societies or communities. In my report I have selected three theories each from the recommended ones- Individual theory, Structural theory and Post-Modernism theory., that is cognitive behavioural therapy, empowerment and narrative therapy respectively. As theory helps us understand and contest ideas ,also offers a practice framework , I would like to impart these theories on practice.(payne 2005) I have got a case to apply these principles of each theories. a client named Bob Cruise had approached me with his family problems..On his first arrival itself he seemed to be tensed..gradually he shared his problems with me in hope that i could cure him. With The Company We Work For Having Systematic Labor...

With the company we work for having systematic labor violations, and I have noticed that a lot of people are complaining about work conditions and wages. Some of you have talked about that we need to fight back. For us to do that we need to organize, and come together and form a union. Here is a proposal for us to get enough people to form a union, what are responsibilities are, how unions can help. I will also explain what management can say or do, what we can do to help our overseas workers to organize. First let’s look at the union organizing process. To begin organizing a union first we need to quietly talk to co-workers to make sure they are interested in starting a union. Once we file the petition the NLRB will investigate to make sure we have thirty pe rcent have signed the cards, NLRB will accept the petition. Then the NLRB will work-out the election process, like where it will be held, and when. Then they will hold the election and if we have the majority of workers wanting to join the union, then we will be able to form a union. Our responsibilities as workers are to get the word out and get other workers to agree to form a union. We are allowed to do this by distributing union literature, wear buttons, or solicit co-workers (NLRB, XXXX). We also have the responsibility to make sure this does not interfere with work. Make sure you are not conducting union activity on work time, because that is one thing that management can enforce on us trying to form a union. As a result, they add many product line those are music CDs, DVD, Electronics, kitchen items, tools, lawn and garden, jewelry, beauty product, clothing, industrial scientific supplies, etc. And they was success, they attract more customer access to Amazon website to buy and looking for the stuff that they want to buy. They get many customers from other competitors. They create a really good service for both seller and buyer that make them really happy and satisfied when use Amazon service. wikipedia, 2013) On the other hand, they did not forget to develop and invest for the main business that creates the main profit for Amazon, that is bookstore online. They try to make Amazon. com become the place customers that can find all type of book that they want. Further more, in 2009, Amazon Inc. make a big movement with other competitor because they create Kindle, this is the 1st electronic book that publish to customer with highest utilities. The reason is because it changes the way reader use book and buy book. Customer can buy book online and download it directly to Kindle-fire for reading everywhere and every time that they want. Moreover, now that is not only the electronic book, it also work like tablet that customer can use to watch video, listen to music or play game. This make Amazon Inc. become more and more popular in this industry and let other competitor such as Banner and Noble have to make the same electronic book for competing. Nike and Adidas are 2 biggest companies that produce sport product in the world. Dealing with the development of Internet they also need to attract customer by using Internet and customer more likely use Internet to check product that they want to buy. So that they also focus on Amazon. om because they do not need to create their own website for selling their product and marketing their product. All thing that Amazon. com can do for them because of the popular of amazon website. However, to compete to each other, Nike and Adidas had created more price promotion base on each product line to attract customers. However, those products just like old and slow selling product. They want new space in store so that they just keep it in warehouse or send it to Amazon warehouse for saving maintaining cost. This may both good for customer and seller. 8 IV. Conclusion All in all, Amazon Inc. s doing really excellent on the way that they chose for development. They know what are their strength and weakness for solving them to make the organization become stronger and more effective. One of the most important part is they chose the right market structure for the company to entry, consequently, they can have affect and influence to all their competitors. However, this does not mean Amazon Inc. is the winner in the market; they have to work to create more achievement and new product line for customer. From that point, they will have the best stand in the market and other competitor can beat with Amazon Inc.

Reading Response 04 Essays - Visual Arts, Modern Art, Dutch Art

Reading Response 04 The article Neoplasticism and Constructivism covers several different artistic movements in the early 1900s which fall under the umbrella of abstraction. Though all of the movements/styles differ slightly, most of those touched on within the reading were a response to industrialization and popularization of machines, the three most discussed being Constructivism, De Stijl, and Neoplasticism. Created by Vladimir Tatlin in 1913, Constructivism is based on the "complete acceptance of the contemporary world of machinery and mass-produced objects."1 This movement heavily influenced graphic design and can be seen prominently in soviet propaganda posters. De Stijl was a Dutch movement brought on by Theo van Doesburg and Piet Mondrian in 1917 Amsterdam. Along with being a group of artists, the De Stijl group also pursued "a spiritual vocabulary capable of describing modernity."2 Beginning in 1917, this group published a journal to broadcast their ideas and beliefs.2 The chief objective of this movement was to be a "model for the perfect harmony they believed possible both for man as an individual and society as a whole."1 This movement was based on Dutch idealism, which is to say an ideology of sobriety, clarity, and logic. Because De Stijl focuses mainly on primary colors and line, it is easily translated from fine art into design work. After Mondrian and Theo van Doesburg ended their professional relationship in 1924, van Doesburg created Elamentarism, a modified version of Neo-Plasticism which included the diagonal line. Van Doesburg believed the diagonal line conveyed a sense of "continuous development."3 Most resources list De Stijl and Neo-Plasticism as synonymous terms, since the two share several visual elements. However, the concept of Neo-Plasticism was principally inspired by a work called The Principles of Plastic Mathematics, which suggested that reality is made up of a string of opposing forces, among which were the "formal polarity of horizontal and v ertical axes and the juxtaposition of primary colors."3 In 1917, Piet Mondrian coined the term Neo-Plasticism to indicate the ideas and style seen in De Stijl. The artist described Neo-Plasticism as a reductive method of art-making which removed traditional elements of art (like perspective) and utilized only primary colors and straight lines.3 Mondrian's vision for this movement was to transition the human environment in accordance with De Stijl beliefs, predicting it to seep into forms of art other than just painting. The ideal and abstract composition present in both De Stijl and Neo-Plasticism was, in Mondrian's mind, well-suited to depict the reality of the modern era. In his words, "pure plastic vision should build a new society, in the same way that in art it has built a new plasticism."3
